Preventive maintenance avoids downtime for your installation

Global Electrical Solutions understands that downtime in your branch entail high costs. Preventive maintenance prevents stoppages and corrective maintenance of your automation, installations, and drive systems. By means of planned inspections and condition monitoring, together we ensure the lowest possible life-cycle costs.

Our service engineers operate internationally, if desired based on a service agreement. GES’s service engineers have extensive experience in commissioning and maintaining installations of various manufacturers. This combined with specific product knowledge ensures that our technicians can eliminate the causes of possible malfunctions in any equipment. Breakdowns are fixed quickly and carefully due to our broad knowledge of installation technology.

When your business process is threatened by a malfunction in your electronic installation, you want to be able to rely on a reliable partner. With the 24/7 fault-clearing service of GES, you can count on a fast response that limits the impact of the failure.

Inspections

Inspections increase the reliability and availability of your installations. GES can map the condition of your installations and draw up a tailor-made maintenance plan and budget on that basis. Within the scope of preventive maintenance, inspections offer the possibility to observe trends and identify possible malfunctions at an early stage.

Experienced and reliable inspectors

Inspections are performed by experienced and certified inspectors). Our inspectors are able to inspect your installation completely and quickly, so that you always have a good overview of the condition of your installation. The specialists of GES have extensive experience in both system integration and provider service and are therefore able to take your entire maintenance planning off your hands.

Insight into the entire installation

Besides ensuring that your vessel can continue to operate without disruption, keeping up to date with the latest technology creates opportunities for increased profitability. GES knowledge and experience as a brand independent system integrator can help you identify the optimal equipment to match your specific needs and we and can design and implement the best solution during a conversion project. We work with components from renowned manufacturers to customize our customers' needs and requirements into a reliable, renewed installation. Shore power technologies, also known as cold ironing, Onshore Power Supply (OPS) or Alternative Maritime Power (AMP), are the only solutions that cut emissions totally at berth. Shore power solutions enable the connection of ships in port to onshore power supplies that provide electricity for on-board services allowing diesel generators to be switched off.

Reducing the carbon intensity is the main theme for the Maritime industry. Considering the long lifetime of a vessel, fulfilling this strategy requires radical changes to vessels being delivered soon. A multidisciplinary view on sustainability and eye for return on investments can make a world of difference!

For shipowners who are increasingly exploring the possibilities of automation in shipping, the integration of new solutions with existing ship hardware can be quite a challenge. For example, how does the operator monitor all subsystems on the ship? And what should happen in case of an unsafe situation, or a malfunction?

The International Maritime Organization has adopted a strategy to reduce the carbon intensity by 40% by 2030. Considering the long lifetime of a vessel, fulfilling this requires radical changes to vessels being delivered in the near future. From 2023, the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) requirements will take effect for all cargo, RoPax and cruise vessels above 5,000 GT and trading internationally. With this in mind, Global Electrical Solutions is your partner providing support and assisting to achieve compliance with the new Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) Legislation, by investigating available / suitable decarbonization / Efficiency technologies and operation changes for your vessels, ultimately providing the best solution in terms reduction of EEXI & CII and return on investment (ROI). Ae solution is adapted for managing highly variable load peaks, without polluting emissions. Peak shaving allows energy production to be scaled according to the ship's nominal operating needs. For example, extra power is needed when entering and leaving ports and when berthing and unberthing. The correct configuration of batteries makes peak shaving possible, whereby peak demand is provided by the batteries rather than the existing engines or generators. With peak shaving you avoid peaks in energy consumption that are inefficient, unnecessary and costly. Fluctuating energy demand is strenuous for energy assets like generators and grid connections. Our batteries clip these peaks, resulting in significant savings. Furthermore, a more efficient and consistent use of engines means they last longer.
